Huckabee or Obama?
What with Oprah on the stage and a surge of *ahem* biblical proportions from Huckabee, we could be looking at one of the most interesting races in recent history. On the one side, we’ve got Obama. He’s a handsome black man from a midwestern state. We’ve never had a black President. It really is about time we did. And how does that old saying go? “If Oprah be on our side, who can be against us?” Well. Something like that anyways. Then on the other side, we’ve got Huckabee. He’s a Gomer Pyle looking fellow with a down-home charm from a good ol’ southern state. He’s also an ordained minister. Or was anyways, I don’t know if it still holds. And as far as I know, (with little to no research done to prove this) we’ve never had a minister as President. It may be time we had one of those also.
At this point, I still haven’t chosen a favorite, but I have to admit that if the race shaped up this way, I wouldn’t know who to vote for. If it were simpler and either of the two lost their party ticket, it might be much easier to choose. As it is, I kind of like them both. It’s too bad we don’t still run our Presidential elections the way it was set up. Winner becomes President, 2nd place (first loser) gets Vice-President.
Now that would be an interesting four years!
