Ralph Nader Sues DNC
Ralph Nader, a third party candidate in 2004, has sued the Democratic Party.
The Democratic Party is going after anyone who presents a credible challenge to their monopoly over their perceived voters,” Nader said in a statement. “This lawsuit was filed to help advance a free and open electoral process for all candidates and voters. Candidate rights and voter rights nourish each other for more voices, choices, and a more open and competitive democracy.
He also alleges that they tried to bankrupt his campaign by suing to keep him off of ballots and suggests that they were behind protests at ballot petition signing events. Frankly, I say it’s good that he does this. Why three years later though? Just because it’s getting close to election time again. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. It’s a disruption mechanism. I’m sure it’s not aimed directly at helping the Republicans, but more at not helping the Democrats. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Maybe this means a step towards a removal of the party system we have and a move back towards the way things used to be. You know, back when we had no parties like the founding fathers intended. Fat chance. These parties have become too much like a religion for some of these people. Try taking away their religion and see what happens.
