Dems Preparing PR Blitz
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is preparing to launch a PR blitz to try and increase the Democrats standing with the people of the U.S. The approval rating of the House is sitting at 25% according to the latest poll.
On the surface, the numbers for Democrats do not look good. A poll for National Public Radio conducted earlier this month by Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg and the Republican firm Public Opinion Strategies found that only 25 percent of voters approved of the job Congress is doing, while 38 percent approved of President Bush.
Now that is an interesting statistic. President Bush, bedraggled and beaten by people of America, has a better approval rating than that of Congress. And didn’t someone say that the President’s approval rating was at an all-time low? Wonder what Congress’ all-time low is.
I’ll probably say this a few times in the coming months leading up to the primaries. I HATE SPIN. Can’t stand it. If you can’t say something without trying to put a spin on it, you’re lying. That’s the way I see it. Give me the exact facts of the situation and let me decide which spin I’ll put on it. If I lean right, I’ll put that spin on it anyways. If I lean left, I’ll put a left spin on it. You don’t have to do it for me. All you’re doing is perverting the press and making a mockery of our system.
That being said, why don’t we hear more about Congress’ lackluster approval rating? Why do you keep beating a dead horse with the President’s approval rating. Could it be that you’re trying to sway the public for the coming elections?
